This major summer concert in Boise already sold out — in under 30 minutes

Enough snow. Boise is ready for summer.

And maybe a second Bon Iver date?

The award-winning indie-folk group, which had never headlined in the Boise market, is guaranteed to have a packed, sweaty crowd when it performs Aug. 11 at Outlaw Field.

The show at the Idaho Botanical Garden’s 4,000-capacity venue sold out less than 30 minutes after it went on sale Friday, according to Chris Moore, CEO of promoter CMoore Concerts. Tickets had gone on sale that morning for $65 plus fees (or $60 for Garden members).

Clearly, Idaho was dying to see the group. Moore said he was unaware of Bon Iver ever performing in Boise before. Idaho Statesman archives also have no mention of a prior show.

The brainchild of singer-songwriter Justin Vernon, Bon Iver (pronounced “BOHN ee-VAIR”) released its first album, “For Emma, Forever Ago,” in 2008. The record was honored by music publications as one of the top albums of the year — even decade. Bon Iver’s eponymous second record won a Grammy Award in 2012 for Best Alternative Music Album. The group won the Best New Artist Award that same year.

Bon Iver is one of four concerts revealed so far at Outlaw Field in 2023. Kelsea Ballerini is coming June 28, The Avett Brothers are slated to perform July 18 and Chicago will be there Sept. 3.
