‘Massive’ concert tour coming to Albertsons Stadium in Boise. Garth Brooks? Not this time
Four years after Garth Brooks performed for 86,000 fans over two nights at Albertsons Stadium, another country superstar will visit the blue turf.
Luke Combs will headline Boise State’s football stadium on Saturday, May 20, 2023. Combs will bring special guests Riley Green, Lainey Wilson, Flatland Cavalry and Brent Cobb.
Tickets will become available to the general public starting at 10 a.m. Friday, Sept, 16, through Ticketmaster. Presale tickets open up starting Wednesday, Sept. 14, at 4 p.m. through Ticketmaster Verified Fan, according to a media release. Combs’ official fan club, The Bootleggers, will get even earlier access to Ticketmaster Verified Fan presale tickets at 10 a.m that day. Other presales will be offered to Citi and American Express card members.
Pricing? Unlike Brooks’ shows — where all tickets were $94.95, including taxes and fees — this one is a mystery. “Ticket prices will appear on the ticketing pages when inventory is available,” a tour publicist explained via email. “We don’t break out a listing of prices anywhere (this is standard operating procedure).”
In other words, when the tickets go on sale, you’ll see the prices.
“Country superstar and reigning CMA Entertainer of the Year Luke Combs will embark on an unprecedented world tour in 2023,” the release says. “The massive trek includes 16 stadiums across North America ... as well as stops in Australia, New Zealand, U.K., Ireland, Germany, Netherlands, Norway, Sweden, Denmark, Switzerland, France and Belgium.”
In all, the tour will feature 35 concerts in 16 countries on three continents.
Since Combs’ full-length major-label debut album, “This One’s For You,” came out in 2017, he has been on an 8-second bull ride. Two years later, Combs became the first act ever to top all five Billboard country charts simultaneously for multiple weeks.
Combs, 32, last visited Idaho in fall 2019, when he performed at the Ford Idaho Center in Nampa.
But this show figures to be a whole lot bigger — like Combs’ hit says, “Beautiful Crazy.”
When Garth Brooks performed at Albertsons Stadium in 2019, it was a historic visit. The country star hadn’t gigged in Boise in 27 years. And no major concert ever had been allowed on BSU’s football field.
Combs will be the second performer to headline a major show at the stadium — even if it’s the third major concert, since Brooks played two consecutive nights.
