Nearly 70 acts to play 3-day Garden City music fest from Treefort founders. Here’s who

Boise band Built To Spill, the Bay Area’s Monophonics and Los Angeles-based Automatic will headline the inaugural three-day Flipside Fest next month in Garden City.

Produced by the organizers of Boise’s annual Treefort Music Fest, the event Sept. 23-25 will be “super similar to Treefort,” they promise, “but like on a mini-scale.”

How “mini,” exactly? That depends on your perspective.

Unlike Treefort, Flipside won’t feature hundreds of bands and DJs. But the all-ages “neighborhood music and mural festival” from Duck Club Entertainment will be held at 10 Garden City venues. About 70 acts are scheduled to perform, both local and international.

Flipside also will include “live murals, drag shows, food trucks, a multi-day market and more happening at various venues throughout Garden City’s Live-Work-Create District,” according to a press release. Headlining bands will perform at a main stage outdoors in the parking lot of Visual Arts Collective, 3638 Osage St. Other locations include Barbarian Brewing, Somewhere Bar, Push & Pour, Surel’s Place, Roots Zero Waste Market, Vervain Collective, Coiled Wines, Community Square Development and The Sandbar at the Riverside Hotel.

Music is slated to end at around 10:30 p.m. each day. After-parties for people 21 and older will go into the wee hours on the Friday and Saturday nights inside Visual Arts Collective and Somewhere Bar.
