Two new major outdoor concerts are coming, Boise. Honey, they’re good

Outdoor concert season in the Boise area is going to be busy — possibly busier than it’s ever been.

After announcing three new shows last week, the Ford Idaho Center Amphitheater kicked off this week by revealing two more.

Indie-pop and neo-soul band Fitz and The Tantrums will be joined by pop singer-songwriter Andy Grammer for a performance Saturday, Aug. 20. Tickets become available to the public at 10 a.m. Friday, April 15, at fordidahocenter.com for $45 general-admission lawn, $55 reserved seat and $75 golden circle reserved seat. The gates will open at 6 p.m.; music at 7.

Known for their energetic live show, Fitz and the Tantrums broke out in 2010 with their debut album “Pickin’ Up the Pieces.” The group’s biggest hit is “HandClap,” from their self-titled, third album in 2016.

Grammer’s biggest song is the 2015 fan favorite, “Honey, I’m Good.”

He is known for “engaging, energizing and empowering audiences across the world with his chart-topping radio hits,” according to a press release. Grammer “has registered over 3 billion streams to date ... buoyed by the runaway success of recent tracks ‘Lease On Life,’ ‘Damn It Feels Good To Be Me,’ ‘Love Myself’ and his current single ‘Joy.’ ”

Pop-rock act LANY will perform Tuesday, Sept. 20, with special guest Surfaces. Tickets become available to the public at 10 a.m. Friday, April 15, at fordidahocenter.com for $35 general-admission lawn, $49.50 reserved seat and $69.50 general-admission golden circle. The gates will open at 6:30 p.m.; show at 7:30.

The press release from promoter Live Nation describes LANY as a “superband.”

“Nominated for Pollstar’s 2021 ‘Best Pop Tour,’ ”the release says, “LANY’s global fan base continues to expand, with over 3.5 billion in streaming, 750 million in video views and (over) 500,000 in worldwide ticket sales.” Some of LANY’s best-known singles include “ILYSB” (2015), “Okay” (2019, a collaboration with Julia Michaels), and “Mean It” (2019, a collaboration with Lauv).
