New outdoor concert announced at Outlaw Field in Boise. Think summer

Need to warm your soul during these frigid winter days?

Imagine bouncing around barefoot in the grass at an Outlaw Field concert.

Texas band Khruangbin will headline the Idaho Botanical Garden’s outdoor venue on Wednesday, July 13. The opening act will be Canadian indie trio Men I Trust.

Tickets go on sale at 10 a.m. Friday, Feb. 4, at Ticketmaster.com for $49.50 standard general admission, $44.50 Garden member, and $96 suite. There’s also a presale for Garden members that starts at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 2.

Khruangbin’s sound is difficult to pigeonhole — but perfect for relaxed, blissful dancing. Released in 2015, the group’s debut studio album, “The Universe Smiles Upon You,” pulled influences from 1960s Thai music. But Khruangbin also borrows vibes from other parts of the globe, incorporating psychedelia, funk, dub and soul. A press release calls the quartet “atmospheric and eccentric.”

Khruangbin is planning an extensive tour this year. The group’s popularity has grown significantly since it visited Boise in 2018, playing the small downtown Olympic Venue for a $15 ticket.

Khruangbin is the fourth show revealed for 2022 at Outlaw Field in Boise. Also on the schedule: Ween on June 28, The Avett Brothers on July 12 and The Head and the Heart on Aug. 9.
