Words & Deeds

Want safer dining? These Boise restaurants and taprooms require customer masks.

Update: Boise will require face masks in all indoor and outdoor public places starting July 4. Until then, customers do not have to wear masks inside restaurants, but individual business owners do have the right to require it.

Lots of restaurants wisely require their employees to wear facial coverings. But what good is that if you’re surrounded by customers who don’t?

With coronavirus cases spiking in the Boise area, some eating and drinking establishments are requiring guests to wear masks, too.

Forget to bring a mask? Most will offer you a free one. And most simply ask patrons to wear the mask when not seated.

It’s not that big of a deal — but it increases safety.

“As long as you’re just exchanging air with the people you came in with, we’re fine,” Bardenay owner Kevin Settles said.

Below is a list of restaurants and taprooms in the Boise area with a “must wear” policy for customers.
