National Donut Day is Friday, Boise. There’s a ‘hole’ lot of free stuff. Donuts for a year?

National Donut Day is Friday, June 5.

The annual, nationwide promotion means you can score all sorts of sweet deals — including in the Boise area.

Here are some of the free treats and other prizes. We’ll add more as information becomes available.

▪ Krispy Kreme, 1525 N. Eagle Road in Meridian, decided it’s celebrating National Donut Week instead. Wait, what? It started already? “That’s right,” the chain explains on its website, “you get to choose not only your donut, but the day to enjoy it. Stop by your local shop any day this week Monday-Friday and your favorite donut is on us. Pick your donut. Pick your day. June 1–5.” And remember, no purchase necessary.

▪ Guru Donuts, 928 W. Main St. in Boise, is going nuts. (And sprinkles.) And BIG. Opening at 8 a.m Friday, the locally owned store will give the first 10 customers a free Guru Donuts shirt. The first 200 customers get a free old-fashioned donut with their purchase, and there will be free merchandise to randomly selected customers throughout the day. But here’s the real biggie: If you buy a pre-selected National Donut Day Dozen in advance — orders can be placed online through noon Thursday — you’re automatically entered into a Free Donuts for a Year prize. That translates to one Specialty Dozen box each month for 12 months, or about a $400 value.

▪ The Donut + Dog, 3525 E. Longwing Lane at The Village at Meridian, is luring Idaho customers with prizes: “The first 25 customers will receive gift bags filled with goodies from our local partners. We’ll also be placing 12 golden tickets in random six-pack boxes. Those 12 winning tickets will be entered into a grand prize drawing — lunch for eight, four-person Top Golf outing, robot vacuum, two-night stay at the Cosmopolitan. Plus so much more!”

▪ The Fit Donut, 1330 E. Fairview Ave. #105 in Meridian, will give a free donut to the first 20 customers and offer five donuts for $9 (or $11 gluten-free). There also will be a raffle with a giveaway of a half dozen donuts and a T-shirt.

▪ The Dapper Doughnut, 6711 N. Glenwood St. in Garden City, is offering 20 percent off all orders over a dozen.
