‘Rebecca, we need to talk’: Here’s what’s up with those strange Boise billboards

Is it a public marriage proposal? A payoff of a strange bet? Invaders from Mars?

Electronic billboards in Boise stirred up questions in recent weeks with communication between a mysterious Nathan and Rebecca. The messages were random, yet suggested a romantic relationship, with intimate notes such as “Rebecca, we need to talk. - Nathan.”

Now the secret is out: It’s a promotional campaign for a new Idaho morning radio show.

Hosts Nathan and Rebecca Fast will debut a local program, “Fast in the Morning,” on June 8 on Wild 101.1 FM. The duo will fill a 6 to 10 a.m. weekday slot inhabited for years by the syndicated “Brooke & Jubal in the Morning.”

Here’s the scoop on the Fasts, according to Wild 101: “Nathan and Rebecca met in Boise a decade ago during Nathan’s run as a night show host, before his career took him to big-league radio in cities like San Diego, Los Angeles and Dallas. Two states (and two daughters) later, their paths have brought them full-circle back to the Treasure Valley to host ‘Fast In The Morning’ on Wild 101.”
