First Hailey, then Ketchum, then Boise. Now Boise again. Idaho chain plans 4th restaurant.
Does the idea of hand-tossed, New York-style pizza make you drool?
Start reaching for a napkin.
A new Wiseguy Pizza Pie restaurant is coming to 618 E. Boise Ave. in the Eastgate Shopping Center. Co-owner Ryan MacDonald says the plan is to open the shop sometime between mid-March and early April.
Previously a flower store, the 2,200-square-foot space will be remodeled into a destination for thin-crust pies, calzones, Italian-inspired salads and sandwiches, and beer and wine.
Wiseguy is a familiar sight to downtown Boise bargoers, who sneak across Main Street from the Cactus Bar and Pengilly’s Saloon to devour slices. That pizzeria has been open since 2012. Full pies on the menu range from $16.95 (14-inch) to $22.95 (18-inch). If you like it by the slice, you’ll score the best deals during lunch specials.
MacDonald says Wiseguy’s owners decided to open a second Boise location because they saw “a need for a great New York-style pizza shop in the southeast Boise area.”
Although plenty of downtown customers don’t realize it, Idaho’s capital city isn’t where Wiseguy started. It’s a longtime Wood River Valley favorite. The first store opened in 2004 in Hailey. Ketchum was the next expansion city in 2009. Boise soon followed.
