A Boise brewery and a food truck joined forces to open this new restaurant
East Boise has a new destination for feasting on sushi and knocking back pints of Idaho beer.
Lost Shack sushi bar and taproom has opened at 3724 S. Eckert Road at Harris Ranch. The 56-seat restaurant is a collaboration between Lost Grove Brewing and Sushi Shack food truck.
Lost Shack shares a building with ice cream parlor The STIL, which opened at Harris Ranch in June. The businesses are next to Lucky 13 Pizza, which has been a neighborhood staple for more than a decade.
Lost Shack offers all the craft beers made at Lost Grove’s brewery, 1026 S. La Pointe St., generally priced at $5 to $6 per pint. Not in a beer mood? You’ll also find wine, sake, cider and other alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages.
The food selection is an expanded version of Sushi Shack’s menu. Sushi starts at $5.50 for a classic veggie roll and ranges up to $14 for “fan favorites” such as the Heavy Metal (smoked salmon, avocado, cucumber topped with tuna, garnished with Krunchy Krab salad, tobiko, cucumber and 3 Sauce).
Lost Shack also sells four poke bowls, including The Islander (ahi tuna, fresh salmon, mango, avocado, cucumber, green onions, tobiko and poke sauce, $13).
Got a sweet tooth? Grab a Mochi Mochi ($5) for dessert; sticky rice dough is flattened into sheets and filled with various flavors of ice cream.
Lost Shack is open 4 to 10 p.m. Tuesday through Thursday, 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Friday and Saturday and 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday. The restaurant is closed Mondays. Be aware: The sushi bar shuts down 30 minutes prior to closing time.
