When it comes to creating a dynamic morning radio show, chemistry is key.

"Joey & Lauren in the Morning" has that handled on "My 102.7" FM.

Co-hosts Joey and Lauren Jenkins, who made their debut today from 6-10 a.m. on the Hot AC radio station, have been married since 2012. They grew up in North Idaho but have called the Boise area home in recent years.

The two have been an item since high school, according to their bio. "They love to spend time outdoors hiking and golfing, playing with their two rescue dogs, going to the movies every weekend, and watching lots of reality TV! ... Joey and Lauren will invite you into their lives and show you who they are both on and off the air."

Listeners were invited to text questions during the first "Joey & Lauren" show. Some were expected: What concert would you like to come to the Treasure Valley?

Joey chose Bruno Mars. Lauren picked Justin Timberlake. "I don't think Justin Timberlake will ever come here," she admitted. "We need to grow more."

"So more Californians move to the Treasure Valley?" Joey teased.

Other questions were more personal: Does the couple have children? "We do not have kids," Joey informed listeners. "We actually struggled with infertility. We've been trying to get pregnant for about four years. ... We're meeting with someone locally and hopefully (are) going to get it figured out."

"Joey & Lauren in the Morning" replaces the syndicated "Johnjay and Rich Show" on weekday mornings. KZMG-FM is licensed in Melba, but its primary market is Boise. My 102.7 is a Hot AC (adult contemporary) format, meaning listeners hear classic and contemporary hits from multiple genres. During their debut, "Joey & Lauren" shared air time with music from acts including The Black Eyed Peas, Imagine Dragons and Sam Hunt.
