Ballast Point Brewing is raising a toast in the Boise area this weekend.
Regional sales rep Brad Stuckey is in the Treasure Valley to pour samples and talk about beer. Ballast Point Brewing is best known for helping to popularize IPAs with added citrus. (Well, that and for the brewery being purchased for $1 billion in 2015.)
Here’s where to grab a brew:
▪ 4 to 6 p.m. Thursday, May 18 — Free beer tasting at Meridian’s Boise Co-op, 2350 N. Eagle Road. Beers will include Sculpin IPA in regular, pineapple, grapefruit and habanero variations, Watermelon Dorado Double IPA, Big Eye IPA, Victory at Sea porter and Tart Peach Kolsch.

Ballast Point concocts creative, high-quality brews. I have yet to try the Pineapple Sculpin, but there’s a bottle waiting for me in my fridge, thanks to my brother-in-law. I have just one request for Ballast Point. Please get six-packs of Victory at Sea back into the Boise market. And can that stuff!
