Even the most casual electric guitar fan recognizes Eric Johnson’s melodic 1990 breakout hit, “Cliffs of Dover.” Guitar geeks also know the Texan from the first G3 Tour in 1996, which showcased Johnson with fellow virtuosos Joe Satriani and Steve Vai. But don’t feel bad if you didn’t realize that Johnson isn’t just a freak of nature on electric guitar — he’s an amazing acoustic guitarist, too. That’s the instrument he’ll spotlight at his Boise concert at the Egyptian Theatre, along with piano. It’s a one-set, fairly lengthy show sure to dazzle fans of Johnson, his musical influences and acoustic guitar technique.
8 p.m. Friday, Feb. 3, Egyptian Theatre, 700 W. Main St., Boise. $19.50, $29.50 and $49.50. Ticketfly.
