El Tenampa will celebrate the grand opening of its third restaurant Thursday.

The newest, largest Mexican grill and cantina is at 7802 W. Spectrum St. in Boise — formerly On the Border, which closed in 2015.

Mexican food lovers in the Treasure Valley are familiar with El Tenampa’s colorful restaurants. The Nampa location opened at 248 Caldwell Blvd in 1993. The second El Tenampa is at 906 N. Main St. in Meridian.

El Tenampa mashes up guacamole right at your table. That’s pretty much all you need to know, right?

Local radio station Wild 101.1 will be on-site at the grand opening from 4 to 6 p.m. during happy hour, and Patron tequila will offer promotional giveaways from 7 to 9 p.m. (Patron shots are $5 all day.)

El Tenampa hours: 10:30 a.m. to 9 p.m. Sundays through Thursdays, 10:30 a.m. to 10 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays. Phone: (208) 375-8044. Online: Facebook.
