Historic re-enactment of pioneers crossing the Snake River returns

Pioneers will reenact the historic Three Island Crossing at Glenns Ferry State Park on Saturday, Aug 13. It was the most treacherous river crossing on the historic Oregon Trail. This is the first time the reenactment has been done since 2010.

Celebrate Idaho’s pioneer spirit with the return of the re-enactment of Oregon Trail pioneers crossing the Snake River at Three Island Crossing State Park. For the first time since 2010, a band of intrepid history buffs will ford the river as their ancestors did — except with food vendors, music, an arts and crafts fair, and cowboys geared up with GoPro cameras to give you an up-close view of the event.
