Boise’s Rhodes Skate Park grand opening brings in top skaters
See some of the top skateboarders in the nation and celebrate the grand opening of the newly renovated $1.55 million Rhodes Skate Park near Downtown Boise. The Element skate team, sponsored by one of the top brands in the industry, features skater Nyjah Huston, pictured, and X-Games Gold Medalist Tom Schaar. At 9 a.m. you can tour 304 Americana, the Boise home for Elemental Awareness, a nonprofit founded by Element CEO Johnny Schillereff that seeks to connect youth to nature through skateboarding. At 1 p.m., you can hit the rails and half pipes yourself at the Open Skate Jam. Then watch the Element team at 2 p.m., and stick around to grab an autograph at 4 p.m.
