Treasure Valley cities light up their holiday trees

▪  Celebrate the season in Downtown Boise with Mayor Dave Bieter and an all-star lineup of musicians as they light up the night with music, community and the bulbs on the city’s Giving Tree on Saturday, Nov. 28, in The Grove, 850 W. Front St. The show starts at 5 p.m. with mistress of holiday cheer Rocci Johnson as host. You’ll see performances by Frim Fram Four, Bill Coffey, Steve Fulton and The Divas of Boise. ▪  Nampa will light its tree in Horse Mural Park, 12th Avenue South and 1st Street South, with festive music and caroling from DreamWeaver Musical Theatre. The party starts at 5:45 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 28 (the lights go on at 6 p.m.). Then, Santa and his elves will appear with candy canes and to hear children’s Christmas wishes.

▪  Garden City Mayor John Evans will light that city’s tree at 6 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 2, at Garden City Hall, 6015 N. Glenwood St. The River Glen Junior High School choir will sing carols as you sip cider and munch on cookies.
