'90s Rock Legends With Multiple No. 1 Hits Celebrate New Milestone in Most Nostalgic Way Ever

Remember the phrases "top eight," "profile song," and "everybody's first friend, Tom"?

If you were plugged into the earliest social network, circa 2003, then Myspace should instantly spring to mind. The global social platform that allowed users to customize their profiles with music, friends, and so much glitter, Myspace was also a massive hub for discovering indie bands.

Which brings us to Blink-182, whose indie roots are tied to Cheshire Cat (1995) and Dude Ranch (1997). The skater-rock band, composed of bassist and vocalist Mark Hoppus, guitarist and vocalist Tom DeLonge, and drummer Travis Barker, just did the most nostalgic thing they could do to celebrate the 25th anniversary of their fourth studio album, Take Off Your Pants and Jacket (2001): They reactivated their Myspace account.

Staying true to the early-aughts spirit of Myspace, Blink posted cryptic song lyrics and throwback photos of themselves. They also included links to music videos and live performances, as well as playlists of their "top tracks," so that all 883,000 or so fans they're "connected" to can relish in the era's greatest sounds.

Yesterday, the band released the 25th anniversary edition of their Take Off Your Pants and Jacket album, along with six new bonus tracks and exclusive anniversary merchandise. The album remains the trio's biggest record, spending 58 weeks on the Billboard 200, with one week spent at the very top. Producing three hit Top 10 singles - "The Rock Show," "FirstDate," and "Stay Together for the Kids" - the record was the follow-up to their stellar 1999 breakout effort, Enema of the State.

The success of the record was a harbinger for things to come, like five No. 1 hits so far on the rock-specific radio charts: "All the Small Things," "I Miss You," "Bored to Death," "Edging," and "One More Time," which currently shares the record for longest continous streak at No. 1 with Portugal. The Man's "Feel It Still" on the Alternative Airplay chart.

So far, no word on new touring just yet, but the band is set to perform two shows next June in Germany. In the meantime, see if you can get added to their friends on Myspace; perhaps they'll tease more amazing music news there.
