Donald Trump Isn't Happy About Turning 80-Here's What He Said About Celebrating His Birthday
President Donald Trumpcelebrates his 80th birthday on Sunday, June 14. And the commander-in-chief has some pretty strong feelings about this major milestone.
Trump recently joined the U.S. Administrator of the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, Dr. Mehmet Oz, on the media personality's 66th birthday. Dr. Oz posted a video of the pair's conversation on Instagram, writing, "President Trump offered a great birthday present…I get to attend his!"
So, what does Trump think about turning 80? The President told Dr. Oz, "I want to wish you a happy birthday. You're a young man. You have many, many years to go. You're doing a fantastic job…You don't have to wish me a happy birthday. Because I'm not happy about that birthday that I'm having."
Trump continued, "It's a number that I never thought really too much about. It's not a number I like. But I'm here nevertheless."
How is Donald Trump celebrating his 80th birthday?
Trump might not be happy about turning 80. But he's still making a pretty big deal about his Bday. The octogenarian is marking the occasion in the octagon, or at least near the octagon.
The President has now infamously scheduled UFC Freedom 250 on his birthday (June 14, 2026). While the event also honors America's 250th birthday and kicks off a summer of patriotic parties, the controversial cage fight day will celebrate Trump's 80th in a huge way.
According to a recent court filing, the massive structure built on the White House's South Lawn cost an estimated $60 million to construct. Dubbed "the Claw," the temporary venue is large enough to fit 4,000 people and stands 90 feet tall. Trump recently took to TikTok, comparing it to the Eiffel Tower and suggesting that he might not take it down.
While the cage matches won't start until the President's actual birthday, the multi-day event began on Friday, June 12, with a press conference. UFC officials introduced the fighters in front of the Lincoln Memorial, giving fans a glimpse of what to expect on Sunday.
Saturday, June 13, will include the UFC Freedom 250 Fan Fest and a ceremonial weigh-in, followed by a performance from the Zac Brown Band. Day Two (June 14) will feature seven mixed martial arts matches. Gates open for ticketed fans at 3:30 p.m., with the Watch Party starting at 8:00 p.m.
Who will attend Donald Trump's birthday celebration?
Along with the 4,000 or so fans that "the Claw" can hold, it looks like at least some of Trump's children could attend his 80th birthday event.
On Saturday, the President's daughter-in-law, Bettina Trump, posted a photo of the giant structure on the White House lawn to her Instagram Stories, and Trump's son, Eric Trump, shared a pic with his kiddo on a private plane earlier in the week, captioning the photo, "Getting ready for the UFC!"
