Love, laughs and music are in the air at February events in Boise, Treasure Valley

The resurgent pandemic coincided with a fairly quiet January as far as the social calendar was concerned. And February will be more of the same.

Usually Valentine’s Day is shoved in our faces pretty early. This year, not so much.

If you are one to celebrate, though, it’s time to start thinking about those dinner reservations, cards, flowers, pink teddy bears, etc. — if you have not done so already.

For those looking for something a little less traditional, Zoo Boise is holding Woo at the Zoo on Saturday, Feb. 12. You can learn more than you ever wanted to know about animal courtship and breeding behavior.

Or perhaps you wanna get a little bit naked? How about doing that outside with a bunch of people? Super kinky, right? Nah, but still fun. It’s the Cupid’s Undie Run, also going down on Feb. 12.

If you could not care less about the candy heart holiday, there are a few comedians you might want to check out: The Friends of the Bob and Show Comedy Tour (Feb. 12) will be at the Egyptian Theatre, and the Morrison Center will host Patton Oswalt (Feb. 18) and Nate Bargatze (Feb. 24).

Or get your country music fix with Cole Swindell on Feb. 24 at the Ford Idaho Center.

And if you haven’t taken that much-needed road trip to McCall to peep the snow sculptures at the Winter Carnival, get going. The last day is Sunday, Feb. 6.

Note: Check with event websites or social media before attending. Events might be canceled or postponed after press deadline because of the pandemic, or might have new rules put in place. At Boise city events with fewer than 250 people, attendees must wear masks indoors, as well as outdoors if social distancing can’t be maintained. Boise events with 250 people or more require proof of vaccination or a negative COVID-19 test upon entry. Ford Idaho Center and other venues may also require proof of vaccination or a negative test, depending on requests from performers.
