This Boise Marine survived Iraq. Now he wants to survive ‘Survivor.’
A Capital High graduate is the latest Idahoan to get in the national television spotlight.
Ben Driebergen, 34, will be a cast member on “Survivor: Heroes vs. Healers vs. Hustlers,” which premieres Sept. 27.
Driebergen served in the Marines in Iraq after graduating from Boise’s Capital High in 2001. He now works in a grocery warehouse, according to his bio on CBS.
The Boisean told CBS he is confident he can win the 35th season of the show because he has “survived and overcome so many situations and met so many different people with different personalities. My social game is on point and my leadership and survival skills have been tried, tested, and proven,” he said.
Driebergen is the latest Idaho tie to network TV. Salmon’s Lance Pekus, better known as the “Cowboy Warrior,” is in his sixth season on “American Ninja Warrior.”
Actor Rob Lowe will feature Boise’s Old Idaho Penitentiary in Wednesday’s episode of his A&E show “The Lowe Files,” a show in which Lowe and his sons “seek out a mysterious story or spooky legend and immerse themselves in the exploration and debate of the experience.”
