Former Borah star Wright set to transfer from Utah
Utah granted former Borah High standout Isaiah Wright his release from the school and he plans to transfer to another program, the Salt Lake Tribune reported.
The paper, which confirmed the news with Wright’s father, Archie Wright, did not list where Wright will transfer.
“I think he’s looking for more opportunity and to get in a situation where he can get more playing time,” Archie Wright told the paper. “He loved the university and the coaching staff there, but maybe the style of basketball wasn’t the right fit for him.”
The former Gatorade player of the year averaged 2.2 points, 1.5 assists and 13 minutes per game as a sophomore for the Utes this season.
“For us it was a process of sitting down, and seeing what was best for Isaiah,” Archie Wright said. “Maybe Utah is not the place for him right now. He feels like he has a lot to offer as a player.”
