Law enforcement respond to drowning, find woman’s body in Kuna creek

Police recovered a woman’s body from Indian Creek in Kuna, south of Boise, on Labor Day.

Kuna police responded to a call for a water rescue and possible drowning at about 4:10 p.m. Monday in Indian Creek, near North Thistle Drive and West Navy Street, according to a social media post from the Kuna Police Department.

The Ada County Sheriff’s Office’s Dive Team later responded to help search the water and recovered a woman’s body, according to police. Police said they did not suspect foul play.

Indian Creek is a popular place for floating.

“We would like to thank Ada County Paramedics, Eagle Fire, Kuna Fire and Meridian Fire for assisting,” Kuna police said.

The Ada County Coroner’s Office may release the victim’s identity once family has been contacted.

The Ada County Sheriff’s Office, which handles media inquiries for the Kuna police, declined to provide more information.
