Blaze guts home near Lake Lowell

A two-story home near Lake Lowell in Canyon County is a total loss following a fire Sunday afternoon.

No one was home when the fire was reported about 2:15 p.m. in the 1300 block of Waterview Road off Riverside Road. Firefighters from Marsing, Caldwell, Deerflat, Nampa, Homedale and Wilder responded to the blaze.

Crews say strong winds and no nearby water sources made it difficult to stop the quickly spreading flames, KIVI-TV, Channel 6 reports. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
