Two men seriously injured in explosion at Nampa trailer

Nampa police and fire investigators are still investigating a late-night explosion that damaged a trailer home and sent two residents to the University of Utah Burn Center in Salt Lake City.

The explosion happened at 11:42 p.m. Wednesday in a trailer park in the 500 block of Clarence Street off Garrity Boulevard, Nampa Fire Marshal Phil Roberts said.

The explosion happened in the trailer's bathroom, and although investigators have basically determined what happened that information was not ready for release yet Thursday evening, Roberts said.

Both victims were in the bathroom when the explosion happened, Nampa Police Capt. Curt Shankel said. Two other people who were in the trailer at the time were not injured, he said.
