Kif Brown Foundation wine auction, gala set Saturday
The Kif Brown Foundation will host a wine auction and gala Saturday evening in Boise to raise funds for the foundation's efforts to provide personalized guidance to people with a cancer diagnosis.
More than 300 bottles of rare California Cabernet Sauvignons from Kif Brown’s collection will be auctioned off in 17 lots to benefit the cancer treatment and prevention nonprofit, organizers say. The event is set for 5 to 8 p.m. at the Dish, 205 N. 10th St. Tickets cost $60, with all proceeds going to the foundation.
The wine lots are valued at $280 to $4,000. Silent auctions will include a trip to Cabo San Lucas, Mexico, a ski trip to Whistler Resort in Canada, wine country trips to Napa Valley and Sonoma Valley, a sunset cruise on Lake Union in Seattle and a fly-fishing trip to Yellowpine, which is where Kif Brown met his wife, Dawn. Kif Brown died of pancreatic cancer in February 2015..
The gala, which organizers hope will become an annual event, will feature hors d'oeuvres and entertainment by the Ben Burdick Trio with Amy Rose. Tickets are available at kifbrown.afrogs.org. More information is available from info@thekifbrownfoundation.com or by calling 208-850-7811.
