Update: Police say ‘no signs of foul play’ after body found in Boise canal

Police are investigating after a body was found in a Boise canal on Wednesday morning.

The Boise police and fire departments responded after someone reported seeing a body in a canal at 6:30 a.m. near West Wainwright Drive and North Eagle Road, Boise Police Department spokesperson Haley Kramer told the Idaho Statesman in an email.

Fire crews then located a deceased adult man in the water of what’s known as North Slough, according to police.

Kramer said police secured the area as detectives began investigating.

“The investigation is ongoing, but at this point, there appear to be no signs of foul play,” police said in a Thursday update.

The Ada County Coroner’s Office will release the man’s identity after family has been notified.
