Since holding a soft opening April 29, the new $4.5 million Payette Brewing Co. at 733 S. Pioneer St. has attracted enthusiastic beer drinkers, food trucks and live bands.
“It’s so much fun,” Payette founder Mike Francis told me last week.
But the party is over — at least until next month.
The facility, which includes a brewery and tap room, still isn’t officially licensed. So the Payette team has been using temporary catering permits to operate.
Apparently, that well has run dry with the city of Boise. Payette has closed until it gets the magic piece of paper allowing it to open for good.
There’s no official date, but I’m told it’s now looking like the first week of June. Keep your fingers crossed and growlers rinsed.
