Free ice cream at new Cold Stone Creamery opening Friday in Boise

“Free pizza” might be the only phrase that incites a stampede as quickly as “free ice cream” — and even that’s debatable.

So don’t feel bad if your mouth waters over Friday’s grand opening of Cold Stone Creamery, 1028 S. Vista Ave., at the Vista Village Shopping Center.

The ice-cream parlor chain has almost 1,500 stores in 15 countries. Meridian and Nampa each have a location. But this will be the only Cold Stone operating in Boise.

To celebrate, Cold Stone on Vista will dish out gratis ice cream from 3 to 7 p.m. Friday. Also up for grabs: A prize of free ice cream for a year. (I’m guessing that you’ll have to pay for your own gym membership, however.)
