Submit a Letter to the Editor
WANT YOUR SAY?
We accept letters/opinions that include an address and daytime telephone number for verification.
Letters: 200-word limit, one letter per writer every 30 days. Letters endorsing candidates or initiatives will be limited to 100 words during election periods. Most all accepted letters will be published online and the majority in print. Preference is given to in-state writers. The Statesman does not print form letters, libelous letters, business promotions or complaints, poetry, open letters, letters espousing or attacking religious views without reference to a current issue, or letters considered in poor taste -- or letters that are not on a topic of public interest.
Guest Opinions: limited to 500 words, one Guest Opinion every three months per writer. Guest Opinions are selected to further explore topics of broad interest. Priority is given to Idaho authors who have unique knowledge or expertise on a subject, and to rebuttals of recent Statesman editorials. Submissions we accept will require a jpg photo of the author and a sentence describing the author.
- All letters and Guest Opinions reflect the opinions of the writer. The Statesman cannot verify the accuracy of statements made in submitted material.
