Robert Overholser of Clovis, Calif., defeated Kris Krabil of Kent, Wash., at the Nightfire Nationals on Saturday at Firebird Raceway. The race served as a qualifying run and the semifinal round from the rain-delayed NHRA Heritage Series event in Salt Lake City. Overholser moved into the top spot in qualifying at a 5.83-second elapsed time at 248.71 miles per hour.
The Nightfire Nationals conclude Sunday with final eliminations beginning at 4:30 p.m. Adult tickets are $25 at the gate, $5 for children ages 6 through 12, and free for children 5 and younger.
