Oldies But Goodies Drags conclude at Firebird Raceway

Scott White of Seaside, Ore., upset defending champion Mitch Chamberlin of Orting, Wash., in the AA/Supercharged final of the 35th Annual Snap On Oldies But Goodies Drags at Firebird Raceway.

Driving his ’41 Willys coupe, White unleashed a 6.87 elapsed time at 203.89 miles per hour to beat Chamberlin’s ’51 Chevy, which finished at 6.90/204.70.

From a record turnout surpassing 500 participants over the weekend, local Gold Cup champions included Meridian’s Ed Cutler in Super Pro, and Boise’s Jim Coryat (Pro) and Joseph Karnes (Sportsman).
