Ignitor shifts into high gear starting Friday at Firebird Raceway

The 45th annual NAPA Auto Parts Ignitor features a stout field of 250 mph AA/Funny Cars this Friday through Sunday at Firebird Raceway.

Pro qualifying gets underway at 4 p.m. Friday and continues at 1 p.m. and 5 p.m. Saturday. Final eliminations are set for 1 p.m. Sunday. Gates open each day at 9 a.m.

A co-headliner in this year’s Funny Car field is two-time defending Ignitor champion Kris Krabill of Kent, Wash., at the wheel of the Bucky Austin Trans Am Nitro Funny Car.

The Ignitor is part of the NHRA Lucas Oil Drag Race Series with more than 400 racers expected from 12 states and Canada.

Tickets are $15 for adults on Friday and $20 for adults (Saturday and Sunday). Children 15 and younger are admitted free.
