Ten vie for Kentucky Derby ticket in Delta Downs Jackpot

Winstar homebred Blue Laser, the 3-1 morning-line favorite, heads a field of 10 for the $1 million Delta Downs Jackpot, which offers $600,000 in graded earnings to the winner and a probable berth in the Kentucky Derby.

The 11⁄16-mile race at Delta Downs Racetrack in Vinton, La., anchors the track's richest day of racing ever on a card that includes the $500,000 Delta Downs Princess for 2-year-old fillies.

Blue Laser, a son of Bluegrass Cat, will make his first start on dirt. The only graded stakes winner in the field, Blue Laser will be ridden by Shaun Bridgmohan.

Sweet Ducky is the 4-1 second choice. The son of Pulpit, trained by Kelly Breen, comes in off back-to-back wins at Monmouth Park.

Sweet Ducky, who will be ridden by Joe Bravo, worked 4 furlongs in :474⁄5 in his first test over the track.

New York-bred Bug Juice (8-1) has won his last three races by a combined 231/4 lengths. Aces N Kings (12-1) saw his five-race unbeaten streak snapped in the Sept. 25 Sunday Silence Stakes on the Louisiana Downs turf last out.

Calvin Borel will fly in to ride the Texas-bred son of Phone Jet.

Dreamsrunwild, who beat Aces N Kings, is entered. Gourmet Dinner, runner-up last out at Calder in his bid to sweep the Florida Stallion Stakes Series, is listed at 6-1. Classic Legacy (6-1) will make his debut for trainer Bob Baffert. Rounding out the field are Rush Now, Clubhouse Ride and Decisive Moment.
