Varsity Extra athletes of the week (Jan. 18-23)

GIRLS BASKETBALL

Erika Linford, Liberty Charter: The Patriots improved to 16-1 overall and 7-0 in the 1A Western Idaho Conference with two wins last week. Linford, a senior, had 21 points, seven assists, seven steals and five rebounds in a 64-58 win over Compass Charter. She then had 28 points, seven assists, six rebounds and one steal in a victory against Ambrose.

BOYS BASKETBALL

Kendall Williams, Centennial: The Patriots maintained a share of first place in the 5A Southern Idaho Conference with two victories last week. Williams, a 6-foot-5 senior guard/forward, paced the Patriots with 20 points, seven rebounds and two assists in a 51-32 win over Mountain View. Williams added 21 points, seven rebounds, two blocks and one assist in a come-from-behind win against Boise.

WRESTLING

Adrian Adame, Caldwell: The Cougars earned the team title at the 2015 Padilla Invitational at Parma High over the weekend. Adame, a senior, won an individual championship at 145 pounds with a 9-5 decision over Homedale’s Nash Johnson in the title match. Adame improved to 26-3 this season.
