GIRLS BASKETBALL

Tori Williams, Centennial: The Patriots defeated Borah 49-37 in a 5A Southern Idaho Conference matchup last Tuesday. Williams, a sophomore guard, accounted for more than half of the Patriots' points with 29. It was the highest point total reported to the Idaho Statesman among last week's games. Williams went 4-for-9 from 3-point range, 9-for-17 from the field and 7-for-7 from the free-throw line. She added three assists and one rebound.

BOYS BASKETBALL

Holton Hyde, Skyview: The Hawks opened the season with a 59-47 nonconference victory over Mountain View. Hyde, a senior guard, contributed 23 points, nine rebounds, four steals, two assists and one blocked shot. Hyde went 10-for-14 from the field and 3-for-4 from the free-throw line to record the highest point total among games reported to the Idaho Statesman last week.
