GIRLS BASKETBALL

Taeli Carrillo, Mountain View: The two-time defending state champions improved to 7-0 with two 5A Southern Idaho Conference victories against Capital (59-43) and Meridian (44-43). Carrillo, a senior guard, led the Mavericks in scoring both games with 20 points.

BOYS BASKETBALL

Kolby Lee, Rocky Mountain: The Grizzlies traveled to Utah over the weekend for the Logan Tournament, where they beat Fremont (55-48) and Logan (79-66) and lost to Timpview (94-70). Lee shot 67.7 percent from the field and averaged 16.7 points, 11.3 rebounds and 2.7 blocks per game.

WRESTLING

Nathan Clements: The 2016 5A state runner-up at 170 pounds got the season off to a strong start with a win at the Sidney Eagle Invitational over the weekend in Sidney, Mont. Clements, a junior, won the 170-pound division as the Wildcats also claimed the team championship.
