Boise State Hall of Famer to take over Payette High football

Carl Keever was chosen as the Pirates’ new head football coach.

Keever was most recently the defensive coordinator at Meridian High in 2013, and he also has served as a head coach at McCall-Donnelly.

Keever, a linebacker, was inducted into the Boise State Hall of Fame in 1991 and ranks second all-time in tackles with 387.

“I love being a head football coach, making a difference in the community and helping kids,” Keever said. “Payette is a great community. We have great kids.” Keever replaces Troy Gleave, who resigned after 11 seasons.
