Mountain View point guard Destiny Slocum, a senior next season, has decommitted from a scholarship offer from the University of Washington women’s basketball program, she confirmed via Twitter.
Slocum committed to Washington on Sept. 29 from a final four that included Duke, UCLA and Oregon.
Slocum — ranked by ESPN.com as the No. 4 player in her class in the nation — told ProspectNation.com Washington remains in the picture but she has reopened her recruitment.
The 5-7 point guard averaged 25.4 points, 6.0 rebounds, 5.3 assists and 2.9 steals per game this winter while leading Mountain View to its first state title in school history. She earned Idaho’s Gatorade player of the year award and was elected the 5A All-Idaho Player of the Year.
