Boise Capitals return to American Legion baseball regional tournament

The Boise Capitals take on the host Cheyenne Post 6 Sixers at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday in the opening round of the Double-A American Legion baseball Northwest Regional Tournament at Power Field.

The Capitals (31-13), which draw from Capital High, qualified for the tournament for the second year in a row after winning their second straight state title Saturday. The Capitals went 1-2 at last year’s tournament.

The winner of the eight-team Northwest Regional advances to the American Legion World Series Aug. 11-16 in Shelby, N.C.
