Lightning hit the Rocky Mountain High School football field Wednesday night.
It left a strange, dark mark on the artificial turf field, which girls soccer coach Donal Kaehler captured in a photo.
Rocky Mountain director of football operations Dave Middleton said the strike is a good reminder to follow regulations when it comes to safety during storms.
Football practice is still about a week away for the team, but Middleton said he doesn’t expect the damage to the field to delay practice.
