The Idaho High School Activities Association voted to keep classification enrollment numbers the same at its board meeting Wednesday. That means some Treasure Valley schools will move.
Beginning in the fall of 2016, the 5A Southern Idaho Conference will have 12 teams: Boise, Borah, Capital, Centennial, Columbia, Eagle, Kuna (up from 4A), Meridian, Mountain View, Nampa, Rocky Mountain and Timberline.
With the addition of a new high school in the Vallivue School District, the 4A SIC will include Bishop Kelly, Caldwell, Emmett (up from 3A), Middleton, Mountain Home, Skyview, Ridgevue and Vallivue (down from 5A).
Wilder will move up from 1A Division II to 1A Division I. In other moves, the IHSAA chose not to install a rule mandating the use of facemasks for pitchers and third basemen in softball.
