Chicago Red Stars’ Huerta moves into tie for NWSL scoring lead

Chicago Red Stars rookie forward Sofia Huerta (Centennial High) scored in stoppage time, but the Western New York Flash handed the National Women’s Soccer League’s top team its first loss, 3-1.

Huerta, who was named the NWSL Player of the Month for May earlier in the week, had her sixth goal of the season to tie Washington’s Crystal Dunn for first in the league. She had a penalty kick in the 90th minute, but Flash goalkeeper Chantel Jones made the save.
