The Trojans picked former Nampa girls basketball coach Cam Long to take over their girls basketball program, the school announced Tuesday.
Long led Nampa for 11 years, taking the Bulldogs to three 4A state tournaments and leading them to a 16-10 record last season season in their first year back in the 5A classification. He has also coached six years with Idaho Flash Academy, a travel club program.
Nampa Christian, a 2A program, went 1-19 last season while averaging 20 points per game.
“We are very fortunate to have a coach of this caliber at Nampa Christian,” Nampa Christian Athletic Director Randy Brothers said in a statement. “Coach Long has the ability to get kids to play to their potential and at the same time enjoy what they are doing.”
