3A RAINED OUT

All of Friday’s games in Ontario, Ore., were postponed due to weather. The tournament will continue Saturday with the semifinals, third-place and championship games at Treasure Valley Community College, and consolation games at Ontario High. TOURNAMENT SCHEDULE, A14

2A: NAMPA CHRISTIAN IN FINAL

The Trojans (19-6) advanced to the championship game by beating St. Maries 6-4 at Rodeo Park. Nampa Christian will face Orofino or New Plymouth.

1A: WILDER STAYS ALIVE

The Wildcats opened the four-team bracket by beating Potlatch 3-2 at Wolfe Field behind Oscar Puga’s 3-for-4, two-RBI performance. Caulen Michael threw a two-hitter with 11 strikeouts. Wilder lost to Genesee 13-2, propelling the Bulldogs into the championship game at 11:30 a.m. Wilder must beat Potlatch again at 9 a.m., then knock off Genesee twice to win the double-elimination tournament. Horseshoe Bend lost to Genesee 17-2 and Potlatch 12-10 to finish fourth.
