District Three golfers will be the first to try and bring hardware back to the Treasure Valley when they tee off at Avondale GC (5A), The Links GC (4A), Twin Lakes Village GC (3A) and Bryden Canyon GC (2A) beginning at 8 a.m. Monday.
The Eagle boys enter the 5A tournament as the five-time defending champions, but Rocky Mountain upset the Mustangs by two strokes for the district title last week. Other defending champs from the Valley include Rocky Mountain (5A girls) and Bishop Kelly (4A girls).
The two-day tournaments wrap up with a second round of 18 holes on Tuesday.
While state golf is out of town, the Treasure Valley plays host to state baseball (Thursday-Saturday), tennis (Friday-Saturday) and track and field (Friday-Saturday) later in the week. The state softball tournaments run Friday-Saturday in northern Idaho.
