Rookie forward Sofia Huerta scored twice in the second half and assisted on Chicago’s other goal to give the Red Stars a 3-0 victory over the Boston Breakers in a National Women’s Soccer League game.
Huerta, who was drafted by the club in January after playing collegiately at Santa Clara, took five shots and put four on goal in her fourth professional match.
She played the full 90 minutes for the first time, and her first goal came in the 56th. She set up Cara Walls 14 minutes later for a 2-0 advantage, then scored in the 82nd on the Red Stars’ final shot.
