Idaho 4A regional baseball playoffs: See scores, updated schedules, and matchups

Below are the latest scores, schedule and brackets for the Idaho 4A baseball regional playoffs, which started Friday.

This marks the first season Idaho high school baseball teams must navigate a new state qualifying process. Teams at the 4A level must win a best-of-three series to advance to a new four-team state tournament next week.

The Idaho High School Activities Association announced the matchups Sunday. It used MaxPreps.com rankings to help seed the matchups.

IDAHO 4A BASEBALL REGIONAL PLAYOFFS

SEEDS FOR 4A REGIONAL TEAMS

The 4A regional playoffs divides eight teams into four separate best-of-three series.

The champion of District 1 and the next three highest-ranked champions from Districts 3, 4, 5 and 6 will host.

The remaining three teams received an at-large berth based on their MaxPreps.com rankings.

Below is the list of the overall seeds. These seeds will also be used for the state tournament.

  • 1. Fruitland (24-0) — District 3 champ
  • 2. Cole Valley Christian (21-5) — At-large berth
  • 3. Homedale (18-8) — At-large berth
  • 4. Marsh Valley (22-2) — District 5 champ
  • 5. Sugar-Salem (17-4) — District 6 champ
  • 6. Payette (14-11) — At-large berth
  • 7. Buhl (16-6) — District 4 champ
  • 9. Timberlake (14-3) — District 1 champ

FIRST FOUR TEAMS OUT

  • 8. Kimberly (16-8)
  • 10. South Fremont (14-14)
  • 11. Weiser (5-15)
  • 12. Bonners Ferry (6-13)
