Idaho colleges roundup: Boise State’s Nick Duncan to represent Australia

Junior Nick Duncan was selected to the national basketball team for the World University Games on July 3-14 in South Korea. Duncan started 31 games for the Broncos last season, averaging 9.4 points per game and shooting .384 from 3-point range. Duncan previously played for his national team at the U-17 World Championships and the U-19 World Championships.

BSU VOLLEYBALL: The Broncos begin the 2015 season in Spokane against Gonzaga, Washington and Portland State on Aug. 28-29. Boise State’s first home matches are Sept. 3-5, featuring Idaho State, Northwestern and Texas A&M Corpus Christi. The schedule includes 30 matches, 12 at home, and a preseason intra-squad scrimmage at 7 p.m. Aug. 20 in Bronco Gym.

NORTHWEST NAZARENE MEN’S CROSS COUNTRY: The Crusaders added Nicholas Hamilton (Vallivue High), Timothy Swarat (Hermiston, Ore.) and Caleb Druckhammer (Rio Linda, Calif.). Hamilton helped Vallivue take third at the 5A District Three championship last season.
