College of Idaho unveils football helmet

The College of Idaho will wear gold helmets with the purple C of I logo on the sides when it plays football this fall. The school announced its helmet design Saturday. The final design was voted on by College of Idaho students, alumni, faculty and staff.

The school is returning to the field after a 37-year absence. The school ended its football program in 1977.

The Coyotes open the season Sept. 6 at Pacific University and plays its first home game on Sept. 13 against Montana Western at Simplot Stadium in Caldwell.

The school has yet to release its home and away uniforms.
